A visit from Candice Night

Hello friends,

Singer, song writer & friend Candice Night of Blackmore's Night stopped in for a visit.

If you don't know Candice, you will surely know her better half, British rock legend Ritchie Blackmore. Creator, song writer and lead guitar player of Deep Purple & Rainbow.

Last time we saw Ritchie was over the summer.

For more than the past decade the very original rock/renaissance music of Blackmore's Night has been continuously in the studio & touring the world.

Though one of Europe's most popular bands, and while they reside on Long Island NY, they are not widely recognized in the USA. That's a shame because they really are outstanding. In my opinion, Blackmore is at the pinnacle of his legendary musical career. But I must admit, I was not a fan right away. Their music is so different than any other style you have ever heard and letting go of the Blackmore that I grew up with was difficult. You just can't compare a song like Death Alley Driver or My Woman From Tokyo to Way To Mandalay or Under A Violet Moon. That said, the newer tamer material is edger, with more of a hook and more enjoyable to me now than my favorites as a teen.

If you are not familiar with their music, I highly recommend you pick up at least one of their CD's. Ghost of A Rose is amongst my favorties.

Keeping some of his past band members and friends close, such as Ronnie James Dio, Ian Anderson & Ian Gillan, they frequently write music and or lyrics and appear as guest musicians on some songs.

Ritchie Blackmore is also an amateur Mentalist and a huge fan of Bizarre Magik.

Ritchie's favorite magic device is the Standard Size I.T.R.. He carries this on him more often than a guitar pick.

Candice Night some years back was to do some modeling and for us for our Genii & Magic Magazine ads but her music carrer put her modeling on the back burner.

Until next time.

Thanks for reading.

Pete
