PRISN The Off-Color Series of Mentalism by M.T. Silvercup.

Hello friends,

Stop! You must be at least 18 years old to purchase PRISN The Off-Color Series of Mentalism by Francis Menotti.

What is it? Well it’s a spoof on Max Maven’s Color Series released in the late1970’s

The Color Series were in high demand and got upwards of $300.00 a copy on E-bay until Maven decided to reissue these works last year in his book PRISM

While a sizable literature devoted to mentalism was produced in the past hundred years, little has stood the test of time. Among the scant amount that has is that of MAX MAVEN . Writing under the name of Phil Goldstein, MAVEN has created one of the largest, cleverest and most influential bodies of work in the field, stretching from the latter part of the twentieth century into the twenty-first. His star rose early, with the publication of five slim collections, each packed with innovative and performance-caliber mentalism. These booklets, which have become widely known as "The Color Series," contained items such as "Desire", "The Spirit is Willing (to Write)" and "Four-sided Triangle"—items that have become modern classics in the field. MAVEN produced the Color booklets in small quantities and, despite ongoing popular request, refused to reprint them. They have become highly sought after, fetching prices in the hundreds of dollars. At last, after a quarter of a century, the entire Color Series is again available; all 53 effects, newly illustrated by Ton Onosaka, 240 pages in hardcover. Welcome to a classic reborn— Prism

In 1999 some college friends discussed what they loved & hated about the art of magic. PRISN was born.

Instead of The Violet, Yellow, Green,Red & Blue Books Of Mentalism as in the actual Color Series, you receive The Blonde, Violent, Greencard, Blueball & Redneck Books Of Mentalism.

Author Francis J. Menotti says PRISN "Will only bring you sorrow, same and generally bad feelings."

Here's what the pros are saying.
"Weird, bizarre, disturbing, vile and in several places possibly illegal... Brilliant! I love them!"
- Simon Lovell

"Quite possibly... the most fun you can have in mentalism short of telephoning Kenton Knepper when he's ironing."
- Ian Rowland

"Very amusing... You'll be hearing from my lawyers."
- Max Maven
Ad Copy:
Do you find humor in animal cruelty, eating disorders, terrorism, masturbation, menstruation, sadism, masochism, French people, hearing/speech impairment, poor dental hygiene, nipples, and missing children? If so, there is probably counseling for that. Until then, you will absolutely enjoy every filthy page of this unfortunate collection that has forever stained the questionably proud face of magic and mentalism.

This R-Rated literature lovingly mocks the hard work put forth by the audacious young Phil Goldstein (Max Maven) in his Color Series of Mentalism, 1976-1980. The creators of PRISN have painstakingly tried to be ludicrously offensive (all-in-good-fun, of course) to as many social and ethnic groups as possible.

Need anyone say more? So just put this down and step away. You don't want this. You're a fine-upstanding, politically-correct individual. Walk away...

My take:
These are full of effects, routines and complete methods that only a sadist would ever think of performing. These booklets are full of crude humor, sick ideas, risque drawings and foul language. Crazy stuff, like Card In Bulimic, Tossed-Out Hand Grenade, Gin & Bear It, Nipple Matrix, Ovary Action, Pop-Up Book Test and so very much more.

Listen, if you need a good laugh, PRISN is money well spent. There are plenty of things in here that inspire you too. Many of these are actual effects that you might want to rework in a real life situation that won't harm or offend anyone. At the very least learn more about the origins of these concepts from actual existing effects and methods.

This is hysterical masterpiece. I find every time I flip through one of the books, I can't stop laughing and find myself re-reading the same passages over and over. If you are a bit twisted like myself, you need to own these. If you get offended easily or are under 18, these are not for you! Not no way, not know how.

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,
Pete
