Hello Friends,
The Dancing Cane has long been a favorite of mine.
This is a breathtaking effect that has entertained audiences for many many years.
It is fascinating to look at. The total animation of a solid object. Interacting with you through dance.
If you have the right setting to pull this one off, this could be the highlight of your show.
You'll need the proper character, costume, lighting, distance & music. That is a lot to ask for but if you have all that, you'll have a show stopper.
We carry two brands of the Dancing Canes.

For $12.00 you can't go wrong, but you can do better. This can is lightweight and balanced well. Up close, you can see the seam where it snaps together. A black plastic fitting sandwiched in between two high gloss black wood rods to form the cane. On stage this will go unnoticed.
We also have Precision Magic's Solid Aluminum Dancing Cane.

$90.00 for this one but the difference is like a Rolls Royce and a Yugo.
The Magician walks out on stage holding a beautiful high-gloss Gentleman’s walking cane. He taps it on the floor to prove it is solid. Then with the wave of his hand the the cane comes to life and magically starts to dance and fly completely around the magician. The cane appears to have a life of its own. Advantages: 1. One Piece Aluminum Construction (35 Inches long) (For long lasting durability and perfect balance) 2. New Thread System Always Ready to Go! (No more fumbling for the thread) 3. Perfectly Balanced Cane (No tipping of the cane, that can throw the cane off balance during performance) 4. A Perfect weight at 5.9 Ounces. (Allowing the cane to be performed much slower, making the trick much more magical) 5. Easy to Repair (The head of the cane has been machined to be removed to aid in repair of the string) 6. Powder Coat Paint For Long Lasting Beauty 7. Concentric Design For Better Balance (It doesn’t break in half as some other canes do as this makes the cane off balance)"
While I love the new thread system on Precision's cane, I must say that there are things I am used to doing with the Cheap-O can that you can't do in the same manor as the new style. The new thread system with innovative and defiantly a plus, prevents some basic handlings that I have been accustomed to for many years. That said, some more practice with the new model and it will not be any big deal.
The best way to practice? Turn to Mike Maxwell's Learn To Levitate DVD.

With a chapter on the Dancing Cane and a bunch of other things, it's a good place to start. And for $12.75 defiantly worth your while.
